Anil Kumble has proved once again to an entire Cricketing world what greatness is all about! He took over a sinking ship and navigated it to the final frontier like only he could have done. It is unfortunate that when the moment of reckoning came, his most trusted mate let him down, Alas!
But I stand up and take my hats off to one of the Greatest Cricketers Ever. It is not about talent. It isn't either about flair. Neither is it about showmanship. It is about a Performer! A dedicated soldier! A leader of men who leads from the front and stays put in the ship even when it is sinking! Isn't it symbolic that he bowled the first over to knock down his opposite number Gilchrist and then is seen at the wicket when his mates had failed the team collectively?
Talent in the form of Sachin Tendulkar, Flair in the form of Virendar Sehwag, Showmanship in the form of Yuveraj Singh... India has seen them all. And then we have Anil Kumble... A Gentleman like none before in this game. A team-man like only himself! And above all a Fantastic Human being!
Mr. Anil Kumble! I pride myself for having lived in the same era as you! Would love to see you as the Chief Coach of an All Conquering Indian Team in Future! Indian Cricket needs you...
Simply because Anil Kumble can't be replicated, cloned or reproduced!
